Privacy Handbook for Startups

Legal Nodes is happy to present the results of our second research - Privacy Handbook.

We gathered insights from three tech corners of the world, the European Union, the United States, and Hong Kong.

Our partners from different jurisdictions shared their views on data protection issues and ensure the diversity of professional opinion.

To address another highly debated issue - an intersection of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Blockchain, we’ve compiled a list of precautions to protect blockchain startups from irreversible data breaches and subsequent enforcement actions.

We have structured the document in a step-by-step way to ensure a robust understanding of privacy compliance:

  1. First, familiarize with main privacy categories to efficiently navigate the regulations;
  2. After this, determine what personal information and for what purposes the company processes;
  3. Next, understand the territorial scope of applicable legislation; and
  4. Finally, form a personalized checklist of ‘front-end’ and ‘back-end’ requirements.

We believe that implementing privacy by design principle is a key to secure the trust of customers.
